great idea that eventually evolved into
Avenidas, an organization dedicated to
enriching the lives of older adults on
the mid-Peninsula.

Forty-two years ago, somebody had a
great idea that eventually evolved into
Avenidas, an organization dedicated to
enriching the lives of older adults on
the mid-Peninsula.
And for every one
of those 42 years, we’ve been supported
in what we do by members of the
community who volunteer their time,
efforts, and skills to benefit Avenidas.
We like to think of every month as
Volunteer Month at Avenidas, and
hope that our volunteers always know
how much their efforts are appreciated.
However, this April, during the “official”
National Volunteer Month, we give a
special shout-out and unabashedly say,
“Avenidas volunteers, we love you, we
want you, we need you—and THANK
YOU for all that you do!”
Whew, that felt great!
So great, in fact, that we’re going to
expand on that concept, and provide
a mere sampling of the ways Avenidas
volunteers enrich the lives of others:
