Glossary of terms Broadcast: In Computer Science, wide dissemination, or broadcast, is a form of information transmission where a transmitting node sends information to a multitude of receiving nodes simultaneously, without the need to reproduce the same transmission node by node. Multicast: In the case of radio or television broadcasts, it does not matter how many users are connected and making use of the service. However, when it comes to message transmission on IP networks, the subject matter changes: when, for example, several different users have the possibility to access a live broadcast, the unicast connection over IP presents the requirement that the broadcasting station must send the corresponding packets separately to each recipient.
