The article emphasizes that writing speech is important as a vital skill. It is noted that, despite the fact that there are many hours devoted to the teaching of Azerbaijani in elementary grades, the students have difficulty expressing their views in writing. The reasons for these problems and ways to eliminate them are reflected in the article. The author concludes that if the writing strategies are used in the learning process, it is possible to develop the pupils' written speech.
