In this study, the aim was to examine the general loneliness levels of individuals living in Istanbul in terms of various variables. The relationship between loneliness, unhappiness and health has been tried to be explained with demographic differences such as economic conditions, age, gender, education level and occupation by investigating the loneliness forms, frequencies and thoughts of individuals between the ages of 18 and 55 who live in Istanbul about loneliness. As a result of the research conducted with 1900 people in Istanbul between November and December 2019, 53% of the participants stated that they felt lonely often or occasionally, while 47% stated that they did not feel lonely. In the research, the positive and negative aspects of loneliness were tried to be emphasized separately.
