On October 18th, 2019 a utopia collapsed: the Chilean neoliberal oasis. The image of Chile as an island of stability and development, within an agitated and uncertain Latin-America, ended. Thirty pesos were enough. Thirty pesos and thirty years. Thirty years since the end of a dictatorship that implemented a wild economic, social and political model. During this time, the most ignominious face of the country was overshadowed by a macroeconomic success. But Chile exploded. One million two hundred thousand people marched in the streets of Santiago and more than hundreds of thousands in regions asking for the resignation of Piñera, a new Constitution, the reform of the education, health and pensions systems, and the end of Human Rights violations as institutional response to CALL FOR PAPERS these civic manifestations; in a word, a UNIVERSUM decent life.
