Ellis Island Trip Through visiting Ellis Island and reading “The Arrival” I learned that being an immigrant and trying to enter the United States for a better life was not an easy thing to accomplish. Many people didn’t know what to expect, but everyone hoped for the best. After taking a series of test to see if they as immigrants met the qualifications, many people still got turned down. Families were split, and dreams were crushed. The voyage to Ellis Island was so packed and infested with diseases that many people died before their arrival.
