Question 1 In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? Settings/ locations – The main location for my music video was a beach and the surrounding urban areas. This conforms to the conventions of this genre as artists are often shown on sunny beaches and in cities. This is due to the lifestyle of these artists and having it being reflected within their music videos. For example, the opening to J Hus – Bouff Daddy is a bird’s eye view tracking up the suns beach. This is very similar to my music video as in my opening establishing shot there is a ban of the beach. Costume and props – The costume in my music video also conforms to genre conventions as the artist wears fashionable clothes that are popular with young people today e.g. Hugo Boss. There weren’t very many props in my music video due to this being typical of the genre. During one scene the artist was seen holding a bottle of expensive alcohol, this can also be seen
