Casting decisions Model one – Molly White I have casted a 17 year old female for my first magazine cover, which directly appeals to the younger members of my target audience (16-25). The audience in this age group will look at the model and be able to see themselves due to her age and their age being the same. This may make the audience feel a sense of personal identity on the cover and this will mean they’ll be more likely to pick up and buy the magazine. The model will be wearing fairly casual clothing, but will have a leather jacket as to add a sense of edginess. My model was photographed in a forest in King Georges Park. I wanted very natural backgrounds for my magazine covers as to not draw away from the models and their fashion. By using the fairly neutral backgrounds, the cover appears more sophisticated and professional.
