Notes on casting and media language considerations: Model 1: I have casted a 20 year old female for my first magazine cover – conforming to the age of my target audience, who will feel a direct relation to the cover star due to their common age. The model is a female, due to the fact that the audience I am primarily targeting is female, further building upon the relatability of the model to my audience. My target audience are likely to primarily be females, due to the common association of fashion and styling being with females (a common stereotype), as well as the fact that the theme of my magazine is female fashion. My model was photographed in a corridor, against a plain wall – drawing an emphasis upon her appearance and the clothing she is wearing – conforming to the main aims of a fashion magazine, and therefore creating a direct appeal to my target audience, who will have an interest in the fashion industry.
