The Hometown Way.... Most of you might know this little bit of trivia, but for those of you that don’t, back in the early 90’s a well respected, but relatively little known knife maker, came up with a design for a knife that he labeled the Model C. That knife maker was David Beck, and unless you are REALLY into knives, you have probably never even seen one of his original Model C’s. That’s because he stopped making that knife due to a slow down in customer interest. That happens sometimes to the best of knives... unless something in the stars align just right. And that’s what happened in 2003, when during the filming of the movie The Hunted, starring Tommy Lee Jones and Benicio Del Toro, the producers contacted Beck and asked him to make a knife for the movie. His choice of design? It was the Model C. Overnight the knife’s popularity exploded, and Beck renamed the knife to the WSK...Wilderness Survival Knife.
