Mental health and psycho-social support in the Philippines headed by IsraAID - following super typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) The following presentation focuses on creative and expressive dance/movement workshops held in Ormoc city, the Philippines - following super typhoon Yolanda. The workshops were held as part of a year long mental health and psycho-social support program incorporating the arts, headed by the Israeli humanitarian aid agency - IsraAID. Participants were healthcare, education and welfare professionals; as well as disaster responders such as police officers, fire-fighters and prison guards. The resilience-oriented dance/movement workshops focused on the topic of child abuse and neglect and were facilitated by Ruth Gottfried (Ph.D.) – Dance Movement Therapist & graduate of Haifa University’s School for Creative Arts Therapies. *For more information on IsraAID please visit: www.IsraAID.org.il
