Academic Journal of Creative Arts Therapies “Such was Momo’s Talent for Listening”: The contribution of reading and writing processes to supervisory processes By: Dr. Orly Vaknin and Dr. Sarit Bar Zaken Abstract This paper discusses the contribution of reading and writing processes to therapist supervision and to therapists' personal development in general, and to bibliotherapeutic training processes in particular. We propose that text can serve as a means for containing both conscious and unconscious psychological materials. The text provides a facilitative and nurturing space for the processing of the supervisee's internal processes in the course of his professional work, as well as his transference and countertransference relationships in both therapeutic and supervisory relationships.
