Positive Prison Experience Anxiously Waiting Sitting in the silent and stagnant aired waiting room of the Livingston County Jail, my anxiety towards the experience was beginning to rise. Even while casually conversing with the teaching assistant for the class, I had to consciously stop myself from staring at the door the deputy was going to walk through. I could feel the sweat on my back and the pits of arms continuing to thicken. Typically, I do get very sweaty; but while waiting for the deputy to enter the waiting room, I could feel every bead of sweat forming and dripping. The teaching assistant reassured me that the deputy would be in shortly. Could she tell my patience was wearing thin? Or maybe she was as nervous as I was? I began to ponder whether or not the teaching assistant felt the same emotions I was feeling on her first visit, but I decided against asking.
