Analysis of Taylor Swift “Bad Blood” Lyrics “Bad blood” is a well-known idiom for animosity, usually between two people who used to be close but fell out. The fact that she still calls this person “baby” is a little passive-aggressive, because Taylor really used to care about them. While DOC is an acronym for “Drug of Choice,” this is also a nod to The D.O.C. – an OG of West Coast gangsta rap, whose government name just happens to be Tracy Lynn Curry (T.L.C.). Kendrick’s love and chemistry was the drug that drove the relationship. “TLC” is an initialism for the “tender loving care” Kendrick puts into a relationship, and “OD” is common when referring to “overdosage” – the result of consuming too much of one or more substances While on the surface Kendrick’s referring to drugs, his first LP, “OD” stood for “overly dedicated” – an allusion to the rap game.
