02.24.2017 TheWater Authority has selected SMPC Architects, designer of landmarks such as IsotopesParkandtheCNMRioRanchoCampus, to plan its new office and maintenance complex at the surface-water treatment plant, Water Authority officials have confirmed. The 40,000-square-foot facility, planned to front Mission Avenue along the south end of the surface-water plant, is expected to be completed in the next three years. It will house field operations employees and Northwest Service Area office employees and will also serve as the new home of theWater Authority’s Customer Service division. “Thisprojectrepresentsagreatopportunity to consolidate certain functions at a single location, save money on rent, and improve ouroperationalefficiency,”saidMarkSanchez, Water Authority Executive Director. “We’re fortunate that we have room on the grounds of our San Juan-Chama plant to accommodate the facility.” SMPC’s plans for the building should be completed by the end of 2017, with construc- tion sl
