According to a US Bureau of labor Statistics, the average length of employment fell from 9.2 years in 1983 to 4.1 years in 2008. A 2010 Metlife poll showed that roughly two out of every three employees either plan to leave their job by the end of the year, or would leave their job if something better came along.
