Liberal Democrats Aberdeen South Candidate: Ian Yuill BREXIT  The Lib Dems want to stop Britain leaving the European Union by revoking article 50. However, in all other circumstances they say that they will seek a people's vote. The party plants to extend the right to vote in the UK referendums and elections to EU citizens who have lived in Britain for five years. The party also plans to use £50bn “remain bonus” to invest in public services and tackle inequality. CRIME AND JUSTICE  The Lib Dems want to adopt and public health approach to the epidemic of youth violence and invest in youth services with a £500m ring-fenced fund. The party also wants to end the disproportionate use of stop and search and end prison sentences for possession of drugs for personal use. They also want to introduce a presumption against short prison sentences.
