The dash for connected cars Automotive brand introduces infotainment and commerce apps to its dashboard computers February 1, 2018 General Motors has created apps for its dashboard computers that allow drivers to order coffee, make restaurant reservations, and access entertainment brands such as Fox Sports. Marketplace was the first app made available through GM’s in-care infotainment systems. This allows drivers to use their cars to book restaurants, order a coffee from Starbucks, find the nearest petrol station and access various discounts and coupons for other retailers. GM described Marketplace as ‘the automotive industry’s first commerce platform for on-demand reservations and purchases of goods and services’. ©2018 Contagious
