Collections Assistant Summer Student The Mann Art Gallery is looking for an energetic individual to assist in the presentation, cataloguing, preservation, and storage of the Mann Art Gallery’s Permanent Collection. This comprises archiving and physical organizing of artworks, including writing condition reports, cleaning, labeling, researching and photo- documenting each piece. This work will contribute to the Re-Org Project at the Mann Gallery, taking place from June to August 2018. Re-Org involves the reorganization and storage upgrade of the vault, the area where the Permanent Collection of more than 3,800 objects is stored. In addition to the documentation and organization of artworks for this project, the Collections Assistant will also assist with the construction of new storage structures and archival supports, will practice safe artwork handling, and will learn and put into practice preventative conservation strategies.
