2007 SCHOOL TRAGEDY PROMPTS INCREASED SAFETY CONCERN In 2007, the Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School District experienced a tragic event in which a 16-year-old student stabbed a fellow student to death in the high school bathroom. Following, the district recognized the need to upgrade its safety and emergency protocols. However, as many hard-copy emergency plans, information was out-of-date and updates were easily lost in the shuffle of dayto-day district needs. SANDY HOOK SPARKS ACTION When the 2012 Sandy Hook tragedy occurred, the schools in Sudbury began practicing additional safety measures.
