The  Duplicity  of  New  York’s  Underground   System      By  Chazz  Mbadiwe             New  York  City   is  estimated  to   be  the  home  of   about  8.4   million   dynamic   individuals.  5   million  of   which   purportedly   ride  the   subway  every   week.  The   Subway,   therefore,  plays   a  pivotal  role  in   the  city’s   perception  and   development.   As  such,  its   importance  and   aesthetic   brilliance   should  not  be   ignored.  It  is  for  this  reason—knowing  and  experiencing  the  Subway’s  historical,   economic,  and  artistic  importance—that  I  have  centered  my  project  on  the   underground  system,  as  I  press  to  tell,  through  a  unique  comparison  between  two   different  stations,  the  life,  development,  and  metamorphosis  of  the  underground   system.   Less
