February 13, 2015 1 The year was 2013. Definitely the 21st century. I had just finished a marathon 6-week training for several batches of Management level executives of a top firm in Nigeria when one of the participants walked up to me to say thank you. The thank you was fine. The gushing was great as well. What threw me was what he had to say after that. He told me how he was spellbound after being in the class with me for an entire week - and his perspective changed. He said he had promised his spouse prior to the time he would only train his daughter through primary {elementary} school. He wouldn't really push it he said…since she was taking all that investment to her husband’s house anyway. But after the week we all spent together, just by watching me, he decided there is real value training a girl child after all. I was floored! And not because someone paid me such a high complement yeah it was a good complement cos heck, I was changing the perspective of someone who was obviously
