While Heritage Station is serving as a focal point of sorts, it
is by no means the only place women have found success as small business owners in
Huntington. Mug and Pia, Runway Couture, Old Main Emporium, The Pottery Place and many
more are all local businesses successfully owned and operated by women. Cathy Burns, president
and CEO of the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce, was the first woman named to her
post. As women work in storefronts across the city, Burns' dedicates herself to promoting all
business -- but said it is nice seeing so many women taking on leadership roles. "We can't have
enough entrepreneurs in this community," Burns said. "I think 50 years ago, you didn't have
women qualifying for loans or having collateral like they do now. Women are now stepping up and
showing off their creativ
