by KVVP Member Barbara Frierson The Leadership Council of Aging Organizations (LCAO) invited all current US presidential candidates to participate in an online forum in Arlington, VA on February 17, 2016. Candidates could respond to questions from older Americans and clarify their positions on Social Security, Medicare, economics, aging-in-community, long-term care and other issues. LCAO has 71 member organizations, including many senior and health advocacy groups, unions, and religious organizations. More than 1,000 seniors sent in questions for the candidates, and over 200 Watch Parties were organized in 141 cities around the country to observe the event. Barbara Frierson and Mike Harman hosted a party in their home. The event moderator was Max Richtman, Chair of LCAO.
