E-visas help a lot for Surrogacy and Medical Tourism in India
Presenting the Annual budget the Finance Minister announced the
introduction of electronic visa for tourists and those coming to India for
medical treatments
The government introduced VOA (visa on arrival) also. Soon, visitors
from more than 40 countries- including the US and UK- will be granted
a visa on arrival at many international airports in India. Indian officials
say that the new visa regulations should be in place by October 2014.
According to Dr. Samit Sekhar, Chief Embryologist at Kiran Infertility
Centre, Hyderabad “This E-Visa announcement by the Government is a
good decision and there are chances that this will help restart the engine
for medical tourism in India and increase the number of patients coming
for fertility treatments such as ivf and surrogacy.
