The former policemen were sentenced by Judge Bert Bam, in the North Gauteng High Court, on November 11. The sentence followed a fourweektrial,culminatingintheconviction of the men on August 25. Prosecutor Charles Mnisi said he was pleased with the judge's decision. One of the police officers, Matome Ramatlou, was acquitted of the murder in August, after it was decided there was no evidence linking him to the crime. The nine men were arrested after Macia had been dragged through the streets of Daveyton
