After the audacious pass week attack that left 36 people dead on the country's busiest airport and
carried out the same day that US announced will resume his internationally repudiated drone attacks
that killed mostly civilians, Pakistani fighter jets are bombarding militant hideouts in the region of
North Waziristan.
The counteroffensive of the Pakistan Air Force is being followed by a major ground deployment
prepared by the army and the creation and reinforcement of checkpoints across the border as fears that
militants could be fleeing to the neighboring Afghanistan.
According to intelligence sources, in the region are hiding Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU)
members, Pakistan's militias, al-Qaida and Taliban commanders.
