An Act to have a casteless society
Proposed to be enacted by Parliament in the Sixty fifth Year of the Republic of
India as follows:
1. Short title, extent and commencement.-(1) This Act may be called the Caste
Abolition Act, 2014.
It extends to the whole of India except the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by
notification in the official Gazette, appoint.
2. Definition of `caste’.-In this act, `caste’ means a hierarchical, discriminatory
social system- The categories which it divides people into are known as caste.

Explanation .-The use of caste in social and govt records of an individual is to be abolished and to call
anybody by his/her caste will be a criminal act.Sec. 30 of the Indian Penal Code (45 of 1860).
3. Penalty for using caste.-(1) If any person, after the commencement of this Act, uses caste for himself
