STS. PETER AND PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH & SCHOOL FA C T S H E E T Our Vibrant Parish Community S ince 1866 (our first church was built in 1872), Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church has served the spiritual needs of Catholics in the Hopkinsville area. We are also proud of our Catholic school, which has educated thousands of children since opening its doors. The first Catholic education program initiated in Hopkinsville was a summer school in 1937 in a house that was a combined school and convent. Bishop Francis Cotton blessed the school in 1947. With a growing enrollment, the parish bought property for a new school that was dedicated in 1952. That building is our current primary center. In 2017, our parish completed construction of a new $4.8 million multi-purpose building. The building enabled us to end the use of 20-year-old mobile classroom units and significantly enhanced our educational facilities, helping us better compete with other schools.
