RiverTALK
It is only a few more sleeps until July
19th when Enderby soars with the energy
and activity of 2,500 Girl Guide leaders
and youth, here to celebrate 2014’s Spirit
of Adventure Rendezvous.
Soon after their arrival on July 19th, the
Girl Guides and their leaders will present
themselves to Enderby by way of a formal
processional-style parade.
“We are really hoping people will come
out and cheer on the girls,” said Laurie Hooker, public relations coordinator
SOAR 2014.
The parade begins close to 7 pm, starting at the curling rink. It will come down
Belvedere Avenue, onto Cliff Avenue and
finish along the river walk route back to
Riverside Campground.
Riverside Campground will be home
base for SOAR. This area will not be accessible to the public from July 19th to 26th.
“We have multiple forms of security in
place,” said Laurie.
Areas around Riverside Campground
will be closed off. But the river walk path
will still be accessible.
