Local Nonprofit Restores Families and
Expands National Reach
The Center for Urban Families (CFUF) is continuing its mission to restore families who
suffer from father-absence, poverty and unemployment. This year the organization celebrates
being named a Black Male Achievement Social Innovator by the Open Society Foundations further advancing its mission to help fathers and families achieve stability and economic
success. CFUF will also celebrate its 15th
Year Anniversary next year culminating with its
Urban Visionary Awards.
Friday begins CFUF’s 182nd
cycle of its nationally recognized STRIVE Baltimore initiative
that provides employment services to Baltimore’s most disconnected men and women. The
organization’s Baltimore Responsible Fatherhood Project also continues to serve as a national
model after receiving support from Governor O’Malley last May to approve its “Couples
