Tomorrow I am leaving Paris, and sailing back to America on the Titanic. I have had doubts to
if I can be able to report the Easter fashions at the Races; but now I know I will be able to finish
it while on the ship. I have finished recording the Spring clothing line to report back to New
York, yet I still feel an urge of doubt and emptiness. Perhaps it is because of the fortune-teller
who had told me, “Madame will be in a very grave accident at sea.” I keep thinking of the way
he had placed his hands upon mine, as he spoke with utmost certainty, as if he were stating a mere
fact The nagging feeling that I should not board the Titanic has been eating away at me; but I have
been trying to ignore it. I have packed my suitcases with all of my belongings, and have been careful
to not leave anything behind. I sat on my desk, with a pencil at hand, and was distracted by the
thought of Ludwig Loewe, my fiancé. I am excited to go back
