I am looking forward to boarding
the RMS Titanic tomorrow. I can’t wait to
rid myself of this place. My sister, Lady
Victor Drummond’s funeral was quite dreary.
Edward Dale Appleton, my husband will be
waiting for me in New York, where the
Titanic will disembark.
I will be having a lovely voyage
with my two friends, Mrs. Malvina Helen
Cornell and Mrs. Caroline Lane Brown. We
shall have a nice, luxurious cabin, first class,
of course. I purchased my ticket not too long
ago.
I am grateful that the titanic will
return to New York before my birthday,
December 12th, so that I can celebrate it with
my husband in our home at Bayside, New
York. Edward and I have no children to take
care of, thank goodness. I am so proud of my
husband’s job; he was a former dry goods
importer, but now he is the senior partner of
shipping house of Charles H. Marshall &
Co. They are the noted Black Ball Line of
Liverpool Packet-ships. Anyway, I am
thrilled to return.
