Differential Diagnosis:
Lower back pain in an adult- arise form tension cause by multiple factors such as ligamentous strains, bony fracture, osteomyelitis, inflammation,
spinal immobility, disc prolapse, bursitis and synovitis . General process that result in low back pain include bone disease such as osteoporosis or
osteomalacia.
DDD Degenerative disc desease:
• Biochemical and biomechanical alterations of the tissue that comprise the interval disc.
• Fibrocartilage replaces the gelatinous mucoid material of the nucleous pulposus as the disc changes with aging; the narrowing disc results
in variable segmental instability .
• Pathologic findings:
o Disk protrusion
o Spondylolysis
o Subluxation and degeneration of vertebrae and spinal stenosis.
Spondylolysis:
• Structure defect that involves the lamina ( neural arch of the vertebrae). Most common in the lumbar spine.
• Hereditary plays a significant role and its associated with other congenital spinal defects.
• Caused as a result of t
