As the reach of internet widens to include non-metros and even smaller towns in India, online shopping is catching on with anybody with even a simple web-enabled mobile phone. Ecommerce started in India with travel and job sites and has now extended to retail shopping which is now growing by leaps and bounds. Online retail now constitutes 16% (in 2012) of ecommerce compared to 10% in 2011. However, it is far from reaching its saturation point since the percentage of Indians with web access is still less compared to the world average but it is fast increasing.
