THE GIOCONDA
It is an oil on a poplar board that measures 77 x 53 cm,
painted between 1503 and 1519. The fame of this
painting is not based only on the technique used (known
with the Italian term "sfumato") or in its beauty, also if
the mysteries that it has.
Also known as the Mona Lisa, is a work of the Italian
painter Leonardo da Vinci. Acquired by the King Francis I
of France in the early sixteenth century, since the
French State has it, and now is at the Louvre Museum,
Paris. His fame is probably made of the many literary
references, of assumptions about the identity of the
protagonist, and the spectacular theft of the 21 of
August in 1911.
WHO IS THE MODEL?
Is Francesco Bartolomeo's of Giocondo wife, who was
named Lisa Gherardini, these is because the other name
of the painting is: Mona (lady, old Italian) Lisa.
The model could be a neighbor of Leonardo, who could
know their descendants, and the model could have been
pregnant.
