1 The Walled Lake Consolidated School District is proud to recognize Shantanu Deshmukh, Walled Lake Western High School, for earning a National Merit $2,500 Scholarship. Deshmukh is a member of the Marching Band, Jazz Band, Forensics and Model United Nations. He is on the Varsity Tennis Team and he is Founder/ President of the Science Club. He plans to study physics at Columbia University. He is the son of Prabodh Deshmukh and Loredana Cimpean. The $2,500 Merit Scholar designees were chosen from a talent pool of more than 15,000 outstanding finalists who have the strongest combination of accomplishments, skills and potential for success in rigorous college studies.
