Global grant project 2014
JB reported that he and Manuela had met with the Oncology Association of the Algarve
(AOA) to discuss a possible project for Rotary Foundation funding.
The association have two
major projects: 1) to fund the building of an accommodation facility for those cancer
patients undergoing radiotherapy treatment at the centre in Faro and 2) to fund the
provision of a second mobile breast screening unit for use in the Algarve and Lower
Alentejo.
Jim & Manuela will develop a proposal on how Rotary can assist with the second
of these projects, working with the AOA, who have been asked to provide background data
and cost estimates.
