A six-foot wooden triangle symbolizing the
sorority Delta Delta Delta hung over Cooper
Street on Monday morning.
The Greek letter
was tied to the north side of the center bridge.
The letter was one of
three the sorority reported
missing at 8 a.
m.
from outside the Delta Delta Delta
house on Greek Row, said
Rick Gomez, UTA Police assistant chief.
While the sorority members in the house called police, Seth Ressl, Fraternity
and Sorority Life director,
said he was receiving phone
calls from people informing
him of where the letter was.
“It could have been catastrophic if it had fallen
down onto the street,” Ressl
said.
Greek letters are taken and moved around
frequently, Ressl said.
Gomez said the police
receives reports of stolen letters about once a
semester.
