Gunshots were fired, and
off they went.
“G-double-O-D-J-OB, good job, good job!” were
some of the chants the “Fans
in the Stands” volunteers
shouted as the Special Olympics Texas athletes took off
running.
The “Fans in the Stands,”
volunteers for the Big Event,
were at Maverick Stadium
cheering community members on Saturday.
This was one of the 47 sites
in this year’s Big Event, a UTA
Volunteers tradition.
It’s also
a nationwide effort, according
to the Division of Student
