The Shorthorn staff
University students joined a
crowd of more than 700 people
attending the Taxed Enough Already Party protest Wednesday
evening at River Legacy Park.
Gov.
Rick Perry and Rep.
Joe Barton, R-Arlington, spoke
at the protest with community
members.
The Arlington protest was one of many planned
across the country
with citizens upset
about government
overspending and
overtaxing.
Other
protests were in Dallas, Fort Worth and
Washington D.
C.
Perry and Barton also spoke at the Fort Worth
protest.
Some protesters waved and
adorned American flags and
carried signs.
One sign mimicking a stop sign replaced STOP
with “Obama,” another stated
“Taxation with representation also sucks.
