The Shorthorn staff
The university reached record
enrollment with 32,956 students
on campus, after an increased effort in recruitment and retention.
The record enrollment is a 14.
7
percent increase from last fall.
“The university continues to
grow, and the growth rate is quite
significant over last year,” Senior
Vice Provost Michael Moore said.
“We have capacity of a campus to
continue to grow.
”
Moore said increased enrollment is a result of factors including more undergraduate and graduate recruitment, staff members’
retention efforts and the quality of
the university as a whole.
“We have a wonderful university
with a high quality education, and
I think the enrollment numbers
bear that out,” he said.
He said increases in enrollment
mean additional revenue for the
university.
Last year, the university generated $158.
