Adela Guerrero said her father
drinks, but he doesn’t hit her.
A T-shirt hanging by clothespins
in The Gallery reminded her that,
although there’s no physical violence
in her family, she can still relate to
those who voice testimonies of sexual
and domestic abuse this week.
One T-shirt caught the education junior’s attention: “My dad was
an angry drunk.
I have the scars to
prove it.
”
“He has his moments where he
does get angry and raises his voice,
but it’s not to that point,” Guerrero
said.
The decorated shirts are part of
The Clothesline Project, a national
event that has been a part of the
UTA community for three years, said
Charity Stutzman, Relationship Violence and Sexual Assault Prevention
