International Week will come to
a close with a first.
The first International Week
Soccer Tournament, sponsored by
the International Student Organization and the International Office,
will be held today from 9 a.
m.
to 4
p.
m.
in the Activities Building Blue
Gym.
It will be followed by the
GlobalExtravaganza talent show at
7 p.
m.
in the University Center
Rosebud Theatre.
The six organizations scheduled
to participate in the soccer tournament will include the India Music
Arts and Cultural Society, Iranian
Student Association, Turkish Student Organization, Indian Student
Association, Middle Eastern Student Association and Sri Lankan
Student Association.
“Soccer is an essential asset to
International Week because it is
popular internationally,” said
Abdul Hakimi, president of MESA.
“It’s just as popular as basketball in
the United States.
”
Julie Uzdavinis, program coordinator for the International Office,
