Weather will soon be measured more accurately at UTA.
A new weather radar will be
established at UTA this spring,
said Brenda Philips, associate
director for the Center of Collaborative Adaptive Sensing of
the Atmosphere.
The center is
making an effort to establish a
test for its system in an urban
area such as D-FW.
This radar
is one of eight in a project that
the center and the North Central
Texas Council of Governments
are embarking on in a five-year,
$10 million project to create the
Dallas-Fort Worth Urban Demonstration Network, according to
the center’s website.
The center’s program is a partnership among academia, industry and government, dedicated
to engineering weather sensing
networks.
