Today, Dontae Robison
and friends will make sure
you know who Trayvon Martin was and what happened
to him.
Martin, a 17-year-old black
Florida student, was shot and
killed Feb.
26 by a neighborhood watch captain for appearing suspicious.
Martin
was unarmed.
At 11:30 a.
m.
today, UTA
NAACP members and others who want to participate
will protest Martin’s killing
by meeting on the Central
Library mall, where they can
make posters and write notes
to the slain teen’s family.
At
noon, the rally will turn into
a march to the University
Center.
Robison, the group’s
president, said the Martin situation is a personal outrage.
“We’re doing this to show
that this injustice can’t go on,
because if this didn’t happen
to Trayvon, it would have
happened to someone else,”
he said.
