Concrete will be poured
today to prevent future flooding
in Science Hall, and Facilities
Management will determine the
source of a leak in the Central
Library next week.
Rainfall caused the Central
Library and Science Hall to be
temporarily closed Wednesday
due to leakage and flooding
problems, but no damages have
been reported.
“At 7 a.
m.
we were in great
shape,” said Jeff Johnson, director of maintenance operations and special projects.
“We
had checked all our new storm
drainage.
This was kind of a
surprise to us.
”
Johnson said there was a leak
in the basement of the library,
but there was no major flooding.
“We had water that dripped
down through the conduit
opening that’s why we killed the
power to the library,” he said.
