housing By Braulio Tellez The Shorthorn staff The sound of women yelling ‘No!’ and ‘Get away from me!’ while throwing punches at mock assailants is the sound of women building confidence, nursing junior Mikayla Svach said. Rape Aggression Defense classes take place at least three times a month in the Maverick Activities Center and provide women with basic defense skills to fight off attackers, said Svach, who has attended every class since last October. The next class is being taught from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 7 in the MAC. UTA Police Cpl. Jerry Blanco is the main instructor of the class.
