Four faculty members were honored as professors emeriti at the Fall
Meeting of the University Faculty and
Associates Monday in the Bluebonnet
Ballroom.
Professors Vincent Apilado, John
Fry, Roger Goolsby and Carl McDaniel were all awarded emeritus status.
A professor who is given the title
emeritus is retired but allowed to
keep their titled as an honor in recognition of their service to the university.
“It’s an honor to stand on this
stage and shake your hands,” President James Spaniolo said in his remarks after the award presentations.
Apilado and McDaniel were unable to attend the event, but Fry and
Goolsby were on hand for their individual presentations from Spaniolo.
Fry said the award was nice, but
the ability to continue his science
research is most important.
