More than 100 of the 247 employees eligible for the university’s
Voluntary Separation Incentive
Program come from three of the 60
areas that have eligible employees.
Unlike the Physics, Human Resources Office and the Electrical
Engineering Department, which
have two eligible employees each,
more than 40 percent of the eligible employees come from the
UTA Library, Office of Information
Technology and Facilities Management.
The buyout does not apply to
faculty, but to administrative, professional and classified full-time
staff only.
“Fortunately for us, we have but
one staff person eligible,” said Barbara Becker, School of Urban and
Public Affairs dean.
Other areas like the UTA Library and Facilities Management
are harder hit, she said.
